I need a trimmer to do a Laurel hedge that's beginning to get a bit out of control. Any suggestions of blade size / spacing / makes etc. I should be going for? It's around my garden so it's not a massive job, maybe 30-40ft of bushes.

    Battery powered ideally.

I trim a larger length of cherry laurel with a good manual loppers (15euro from Lidl). It is far easier to just cut out the branches and shoots that have got to grow too far in the wrong direction than wielding a mechanical strimmer in my opinion.
