Changing from Mondeo 1.8. diesel to 2013 E200 Mercedes 2.1 diesel would there be a significant hike in insurance cost ?

Could you try asking your insurer, maybe?

No, because I don't run an insurance company.

Could be more could be less, I'd expect circa €50 of a difference higher or lower if the Mondeo was same year or older.

You really have to phone them to ask. You haven't said how old the Mondeo is so we don't know if you're upgrading from a much older or a similar vintage car.

And your own age will be a factor because if you're very young, an engine (c.c.) upgrade could be expensive but less so if you're the stereotypical 'old fart' E class driver.

So that's two potentially significant variables which we don't know. Make a phone call.
