100% scam, it's such a low amount that they hope people will pay just to see what parcel they get, then boom, account emptied

It's for something from the UK they forgot to charge customs for and now they have the cheek to charge a late payment fee for

Tell them you'll pay cash on delivery and see if anything actually comes.

You ever hear of this phrase Outside Scope of Vat ?

I dont recall getting anything from them, only Nespresso but there was no vat or customs on that i checked with then today,

Has on it unpaid balance of €29.51 late paymennt fee (8.00%) outside scope of Vat

I was under the impression that if i did not pay the vat i would not get the parcel ?

What actually happens if i dont pay ?

Nothing will happen if you don't pay. You are not legally bound by contract to UPS and since they have not delivered any package, you do not owe them anything.

When something is held by customs awaiting payment, you have the choice to not pay and to leave it in customs. The package will eventually be destroyed.

UPS and other carriers pay these charges to speed up the delivery process, but also so that they can charge an extra % fee. They could leave the package there, and wait for your confirmation before paying customs. But they don't.

They take the risk, assuming that you want your package. If you tell them to GTFO, they have to take the hit on it.

You cannot be made to pay charges that you did not agree to (directly or indirectly).

Apparently it was a heater that was delivered last May which was a replacement l and I said why did u not ask for charges then , and why would there be charges if no value , he tried to make out Ur bill will get bigger

UPS are acting as a nominated customs clearance broker.

Whomever sent you the shipment has nominated you to pay the customs import charges... which is fair as the shipper is exporting so you can import...

Could be a letter follows from customs invoicing you if it was delivered , not guaranteed but it’s possible if the paperwork has selected the recipient as the person to pay duty.... customer is importing the goods, courier is just transporting.

That is an unbelievable amount of utter tripe.

    Ups can make this charge.

They will pursue it unless you can show that it was a warranty replacement.

If you can't show that it is passed to debt collectors.

They cannot put a mark on your official credit record but you will find that they also act as credit brokers for many companies and you will suddenly find credit difficult to get

If UPS were stung 1000 times a year globally on customs charges and import duty... that the importer ( customer / recipient is liable for ) there’d be a deficit of a few million in their accounts....only way to cover that is to increase the charges of shipping for people who play by the rules....ie.everyone else...

So they will choose to pursue the matter most likely nominate a company to send a legal letter....cheaper for them to do this as it deters repeat offenders... even if they loose net on the transaction.

Just an update folks, on this after sending numerous emails to the UPS Billing no reply, eventually i got a number to pay it were i questioned this and it turns out it was a late payment fee of €2.36 + €29.51, Apparently an innvoice had been issued for €29.51 in May which i definitely never recieved but just this bill highlighting the Late Delivery Fee, SO they wanted me to pay the €2.36 so i would keep getting these bills till the main part of €29.51 was paid, what a shower. ( The Actual item was €15.00 Value even though it was a Replacement under Warranty)

in the heel of the Hunt this Company is Judge Jury and Executioner .and they will charge.

Luckily the Company i was Dealing with offered to pay the Bill and Review there Delivery Company in the Near future.
