Looking for new laptop advice

Hi all,
I hope someone can give me some advice on buying a new laptop,
I need a laptop for using for Windows apps such as word, excel, PowerPoint etc, zoom meetings and basic Internet use
I won't be gaming and any documents I'll be writing will be small enough so nothing too extortinate,
Have been toying with refurbished or the dell dent and scratch range but would prefer a new one
Budget is around 500 and I am not a student so don't have access to student discounts

note shipping dates may indicate longer time to dispatch

but I've had items delivered in a day or 2 when it said 2 weeks to dispatch

but it equally could be 2 weeks I suppose so make sure you are ok with that if the case for an item - delivered by courier

or if you have amazon prime or know someone who has it this looks very good for £500 (today only on prime day)

Do you know is there taxes then to be paid when getting it delivered to Ireland?

none.

Amazon are fully Brexit compliant

you may see import taxes listed at checkout but that's just Irish VAT

(they take off the UK VAT and put on Irish VAT)

and there will be not one cent extra to pay beyond that (pay in £ as you'll get a better rate)

the matebook 14 is the best value

I ended up going with a Lenovo laptop, when I bought it, it said 2-3 weeks for it to be sent
Got an email today that due to a issues with part supplies it won't be posted until the end of August
Can't wait that long so I'm going to cancel, shame as it was a good deal.

Going to follow this thread, just handed in my work laptop and realized just how outdated my personal laptop is.

Work one had SSD, made huge difference from this POS.

Scrap that, got an email yesterday to say it has been shipped and will be here on Wednesday
