    If you could only do one in your lifetime would you choose;

    Learn to drive?

    or

I'd probably spend more time on Board's posting and answering stupid questions.

Well there’s no point driving to the swimming pool if you can’t swim. Swim it is.

Learn to swim then learn to drive.

Two skills that will help you get through life, with learning to swim being the more important of the two.

I've found driving to be far more useful.

Really? Most people drive much more often than they swim.

Yes if I'm out in a boat and end up in the water learning to swim is suddenly the most important thing in the world but if you ever look at those risk matrix yokes, it's severity of the risk vs likelihood of it happening. Plus add to that, that it's generally strong swimmers that drown.

Well I have done both so it makes no difference to me but if I had to choose then it would be learn to drive. I am not really a water person. I was when I was younger but do not care for it now.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Do both and do it young.

Once babies have their first stage inoculations, they should be swimming. It's the biggest favour you'll ever do for them.

But if you could only do one, drive or swim?

Swimming is handy for avoiding drowning. On the other hand, you can’t swim to the off licence so I’m gonna go with driving.

If ya were meant to be in water yad have gills. So driving has benefitted me more

    Drive.

Quite happy to flop about in the pool, not actually doing any swimming.

Haven't seen a pool in years, I have a bath riitual where I get a few strokes in

You can drive into the water, but you can't swim onto the road. I think it's pretty obvious which one you should learn.

Absolutely, I totally agree, but driving is also handy if you want to go somewhere.

I remember that time my boat was sinking and I saved everyone with my driving licence.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,723 ✭✭✭Greyfox

Definitely learn how to swim, all the costs involved with driving make it a complete rip off.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,133 ✭✭✭Hamsterchops

When you're on holidays in the Med or the Canaries do you drive or swim? Lovely warm sea just waiting for you and all you can do is drive a stupid car

Learn to swim & enjoy your holidays, attract the opposite sex with your swimming prowess, swimming is so exciting and it keeps you fit ... unlike driving which makes you fat.
