    Hi There,

Will BOI extend the 3% cashback offer on mortgage drawdown? Currently, the expiry date is that you need to drawdown by 31/12/21, however, due to slow down in building this year and properties being ready on time it is likely that most drawdowns will be delayed. Is there any advice or updates on if this will be extended?

    Thank you

    HI BOI Team,

Just re-opening this post to see if there was any update on 3% cashback offer which is due to end on 31-12-21

Do you think this will be extended due to the delay in houses being built because of Covid?

    Thank you :-)

If memory serves me correctly, the offer has always ended at the end of June or end of December since 2017 or before. I got it at the end of 2018/early 2019 and had the exact same question you did.

I think they don't tend to commit too far out as the central bank were talking about getting rid of cashback schemes like this to make it more transparent regarding how much was the true cost of the mortgage. I'm sure you'll be fine...

Also, if you qualify make sure you get the mortgage saver account

    Hi,

Regarding the 1% cash back on a BOI mortgage after 5 years, I have a BOI current account but my husband does not (we are joint borrowers). Do we qualify for the 1% if only 1 of us has a current account? The wording is unclear to me.

    thanks

    Good morning,

Thanks for getting in touch with us here.

For our Cashback Plus offer, to be eligible you would need to:

    1. You use your mortgage loan to buy a home in the Republic of Ireland to live in yourself (as a Home Mover) or if you switch your mortgage loan to us from another lender (outside the Bank of Ireland Group) by re-mortgaging the house you live in AND
    2. You draw down your new mortgage loan by 31st December 2023.

You do not need to have a BOI current account to avail of this offer.

For more information in relation to this, please see the link below.

    Thanks, Megan
