Temporary accommodation for 3 months

    Hello,

A friend of mine would like to come to Ireland and rent an accommodation from June until end of August. She has the idea of doing it every year.
This year is partly gone and with the restrictions it's not sure yet, but if she can, she'd like to come over and rent for 1-1.5 months.
Could I please ask for any suggestion for something reasonably priced where she could look for?
She is very flexible in terms of location in Ireland, she has a car. She just doesn't want to be too remote or isolated.
Thank you for any advice you could give.

She could look at accommodations in Daft's short-term rental section:

    https://www.daft.ie/property-for-rent/ireland?leaseLength_to=3

A lot of these are corporate apartments (which are very expensive) or student accommodations (which might not be available to non-students), though, so it might not be what she's looking for.

AirBnB rentals are sometimes a viable option, but the chances of finding one with long-term availability in the middle of the summer (at least in future summers) are very slim unless she books a very long way ahead of time, and even then she can expect to pay a premium rate; won't be many long-stay discounts going during peak tourism season.

I'd second looking at university towns/cities as many will be empty from june to august while students are working back home ( did this myself for a few summers in Maynooth - that's about 10 yrs ago now.)

Could also try homestay & hosting power - both cater to students looking for rooms for shorter terms

Accommodation in Castletroy around UL might be a good shout. Used to be a lot of student rooms for the summer so worth looking up. Could checkout troy or groody for accommodation.

That's great! I never heard of those before.

How about some sort of home swap. It has the advantage that both parties get free accommodation in their destinations for 3 months. Of course it depends on their home accommodation set-ups allowing swaps.
