Hi, I moved into a house with a completely overgrown garden. But there's a tree we'll probably keep in the corner. Can anyone help identify what type of tree it is? The light wasn't great but I took a close up

    Cryptomeria japonica, I think.

There is a form called Cryptomeria japonica 'Sekkan-sugi' which has those pale coloured new shoots.

Wake me up when it's all over.
