Under which specific conditions are Gardaí allowed to break the rules of the road?

    Or are they fully exempted?

I'm just curious, I was driving yesterday and was overtaken dangerously by a marked Garda car (despite already driving at the speed limit) over a double continuous white line around a blind bend.

I eventually pulled up alongside them in the Supermac's drive through, I thought it was only in pursuit but it must be a blanket exemption.

Overtaking on the blind bend is fine though for them as they are trained to a higher standard and car drive at speed without causing an accident. Just wondering if the exemption is a blanket one or only during pursuit or during the course of active duty.

Just like all the red light jumpers, not suppose to do it but nobody to stop them & they get away with doing what they want (generally).

On the other side, they have to deal with the complete scum of our society so I'd always cut them some slack. (If an accident did happen, then they should be held accountable just like anyone else)

You seem to have a relatively eventful driving life. At least a thread's worth a day.
