    Hi all

    Seat Alhambra 2011

I have had to get the fuel tank and pump cleaned twice in 12 months as the car stopped worked.

The mechanic showed me they found a wool / fluff in the system and that he hadn't seen this before.

I go to Texaco to buy diesel normally, have never put cheap diesel in it.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

Odd I was thinking maybe rats but then how could it get into the tank, that or cats.. I never saw it until living in a park but I have seen cats for up where the air vent is in cars and pee into it...

Now one thing but not wool, but had a case with a car ages ago where someone had put silicone sealer on part of the tank.. Drove the car nuts (it was an old car and the mechanic who I gave a lot of money too was an ass) but the silicone was melting away all the time getting blocking up the system the car would just conk.

this stuff is like treated cotton wool, the same stuff you get from a tin that you use when shinning metals

mechanic has no idea how it is getting in the system

mmmm Like soft steel wool is it? Must be coming from some filter somewhere.. I presume he has checked the tank for holes etc..

Is it too pricey to just replace the tank.My car was an older one so sorry not sure how much it would cost in a new one

soft steel wool? yeah, a bit like that

fuel pump in tank was blocked completely

ill see how much it is to replace, guy said it might come from dirty diesel but I dont think so

sounds very unusual that it would come from a station, maybe fine if you were using dodgy fuel but if you were going to a station... Ill ask himself about it too see if he has any idea

I was asking himself about this and nope, only suggestion was that by any chance would it be any kids or someone messing with the car..
