Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I had my scan (public - Limerick Maternity), it was quick, no information and I left wondering did they check everything was OK with the baby. Does anyone know what do they actually check for during the first scan, Would they tell you/call someone if something didn't look right

That’s poor communication that they didn’t say anything to you at the time, but I think this is one of those times in life when no news is most definitely good news!

    Congratulations by the way!

There is a forum on pregnancy so maybe you can ask there.

Having been there unfortunately at the same stage as you are now, when things weren't right, I was gently told there was a problem. My obstetrician was informed immediately and things progressed from there.

At 13 weeks, there are only some things they can see, such as heartbeat etc. And you will have later scans to check other things. But if they haven't said anything, then I would relax and enjoy the pregnancy.

At this stage they are literally just checking the heartbeat and size of the baby. You would have been told then and there if there was something wrong. Early pregnancy is a scary time because you don't look pregnant, you can't feel movements etc. It can feel like a long wait until you have your more in depth scan at 20 weeks but try relax.
