looking for original version of online article which was subsequently amended

    the original version "x" of a newspaper article appeared online on 9th sept 2015. the newspaper subsequently replaced the original version "x" with version "y". when i now click on the article today in 2021, even though the article is dated 9th sept 2015, version "y" is what comes up, not the original version "x". how can i unearth the the original version "x" ? i do not want to contact the newspaper. thanks

    You could also see if google cached the page before the modifications. Replace the red bit in the URL below with the link to the page you want to check.

    already tried it. no luck.

    on the cache url, just tried it and the search comes up as follows...."404. That’s an error........[your url followed by my url]........... was not found on this server. That’s all we know."
