Art and DCG Teaching

Just browsing online and came across this. New course in GMIT to train teachers for both art and DCG. Would this make art teachers more employable? Also how would art teachers normally get full hours or what other subjects could they teach to make up full hours.…

Art teaching in my opinion is in way less demand than DCG, it depends on the school, some offer craft and design as a specialism in Leaving Cert Applied, that will help get hours.

How come none of the art colleges never offered a second subject to study alongside art?
