Street fighter style power bar

Looks like Oscar De la Hoya has an idea to trial a so called "power bar" that will display a fighters power (via sensors in the gloves) on screen.

Is this a stroke of genius or a hair brained idea? I'm torn on it, seems too gimmicky but i'd be fascinated to see how its calibrated and if they can trully reflect a fighters punch force in order to compare.

Now obviously, precision can cause damage more so sometimes than misplaced raw power.

Seems a bit crazy really, is this something that could catch on?

Power is all well and good but doesn't mean a lot on its own. Timing and accuracy are just as important in terms of impact

The most dangerous punch is the one you didn't see coming.
