Hello good people of the motoring forum. I am coming over from the farming forum, and like all good farmers, I am considering a daysul avensis. I am coming from a 7th generation Honda accord.
I am just wondering about the avensis from people that might actually know, because all I hear locally is "sure isn't it a Toyota". All brands have their issues and downright lemons, so is the 1.6d avensis one of them?

    The 1.6 engine is BMW.

I’d have a Passat or Superb every time over one. They weren’t class leading in 2009 when they came out, by 2016 they were hopelessly outclassed.

There seems to be value in the avensis price wise though by comparison.
I had an 05 superb before the 7th gen accord and loved it to bits.
The DSG box seems common in them from 16 on. Are there any issues with those. I am reluctant to go auto for the simple reason that the kids will learn to drive in this and I don't want them to end up with an auto only licence.

It’s a popular choice, but there are still tonnes of manual ones out there.

Obviously being far more complicated, there is more to go wrong than a manual.
