Issues transferring money Ireland AIB to Russia Sberbank

    Hey guys, have spent the past 3 weeks trying to transfer money from Ireland AIB to Russian Sberbank. AIB customer care have been very helpful but it has over all been a nightmare.

    The first sum I sent I entered the incorrect account number misunderstanding on my behalf. Money is still to date stuck in Moscow, never lodged to the account of choice understandably and I’m just hoping that it hasn’t reached someone else’s account.

    The second sun was stopped in the UK within the intermediary bank because I had selected the transfer in British pounds so as of yesterday it was rejected and returned.

    The third sun was send yesterday evening with correct details in the Euro currency. An update today is that the money is in the international devision in the intermediary bank in UK as part of the transfer process. I do not know either of this money will make it to the selected account or be rejected with a further issue.

    Can someone with experience of transferring money Ireland AIB to Russian Sberbank please assist me to avoid further error.

    Next time better use a specialised service like (Transfer)Wise. This will also save you a lot of fees.

    I think there are EU sanctions on Sberbank.
