    Hi all,
Quick question. Colleague of mine needs to change their number. They are currently on bill with Eir. Is it a straightforward solution or are Garda reports needed etc?

    Thanks

If you don't want the hassle of explaining the situation to Eir you could always order a free sim card from Lyca and port the new number over to the existing Eir sim.

No topup would be required; just put the Lyca sim in a phone, switch it on and you will get a text with your new number, then get on to Eir to start the port process.

Problem is its still in contract, so porting out is not an option unfortunately!

Doesn’t need to port out. You’re porting a new number into eir, that won’t break the contract so the new number will be used on the existing contract. Probably easier to contact them to get the number changed. I doubt they’ll want too much info just a general reason why.

Grand. I'll let them know. I worked in telecoms for 20 years and it was always a hassle to change number (wanting Garda reports etc).

Call into an Eir shop with id and they'll sort it out assuming they operate similarly to three.
