2011 Nissan Juke radio replacement

Our 2011 Juke radio LCD display has been defective for years - works fine if it's cold but when the weather is warm or even after driving for a few minutes in cold weather the display will start to fade until it eventually goes dark.

It has never bothered us but we're giving the car to a relative so we want to get it sorted for them. We don't need a fancy upgrade, just a basic radio. Is it easy to replace the radio ourselves or should we leave it in to Halfords or a local garage?

Just swap a working one from another Juke.

Would be worth researching whether there is anti theft protection which might tie the head unit to the particular car.

My wife's Juke does the exact same thing. I sourced the LED display for €30 off Alibaba and this video shows the simple instructions to replace.

She's only been asking me to do it for 4 months now so I'll update you when I have it done in August.

It's a straight swap but you'll need a radio code for the new head unit.
