Accidentally deleted holiday photos from SD card

My partner turned on her camera and a message popped up about recording mode, when selecting ok it proceeded to format to card.

She turned it off but all images are gone now. I know a format won't wipe the card clean. I've put the card in a safe spot until after our holidays. What software is there to recover the images, I used to have a free one but I can't find it now.

Also, to put her mind at ease, how likely are we to be able to recover everything?

I've used PhotoRec successfully in the past.

I've used "Recova" a number of times in the past to successfully recover accidentally deleted files and photos.

Once you haven't rewritten on the card, i.e used it to take more pics after it's been formatted, you stand a very good chance of recovering them all.
Camera was turned off, card removed and fairly put away. If I've no luck with photorec I'll try recuva! Thanks.
