I’d imagine they’re your generic Vestel-made non 4K TV with Toshiba badges.
For the money it’s pretty good. I think it has Android OS, so it shouldn’t be too clunky.
Don’t expect miracles, but you could do worse for more money.

Equivalent 4K version at regular price in Curry’s is €399, for comparison.

It's definitely not a bargain, it's a case of getting exactly what you pay for. A low-end 1080P TV. I'm sure it's grand for what it is.

Curry's sell a better 4K TV for €309.

That's also a Vestel badged TV.

And a 4k TV for 309? Again, you get what you pay for.
But it is probably a better buy that the Lidl one as you point out.

Does anyone know if the screen (picture quality) is any good? I would be using a firestick or casting to it.

It really comes down to what you’re comparing it to. It would be a nice step up for a lot of people with an older TV.

The number of HDMI and USB ports (3 and 2 respectively) seem to be greater on the LIDL TV compared to the the one on Electrocity (2 and 1).

But I don't know how much you could give in to the info on LIDL's website. Note the "UHD" in the heading, followed by (1920 x 1080) in the details below on NI site for what is undoubtedly the same telly:

The only Toshiba 43" 1080p model I can find with 3 HDMI and 2 USB is model: 43L3653DB, but that seems to have a stand at either side rather than the larger central stand depicted on LIDL, but I guess that image may be as accurate as the "UHD".

It's probably okay for the money though. What has the queueing situation at LIDL in recent times been like for TV offers? Are the days of people acting like sharks smelling a drop of blood over?

How would that work out with VAT, delivery etc? Buying from a seller in Ireland gets you way better consumer rights too.

Lidl have announced that the Toshiba TVs will not be going on sale.

FYI Cork Street Lidl reopened yesterday after being closed for refurbishment for a few months. They had 3 Toshiba tvs in stock this afternoon - the model number was 43UA2063DBL, and the box was labelled 4k. Price reduced to €249.99 too.

What do you need 4k for? 1080p is great already, especially on a small size like that.

I would say a tiny percentage of people buying 4K TVs in the last few years actually feed them with 4K source material.

It will be Saorview, Freesat/Sky and Netflix.
