Environmentally friendly ones never killed anything properly weed wise I've tried them on. Waste of money tbh. Better off with resolva 24hr the light blue container. And just be aware to spray only what you want killed

Get a bag of 7-6-17 or 10-10-20 (prepare to cut with this one) from any Agri supplier (about €20) for fertiliser and spray dicophar for weed control, it’s selective so will kill weeds only and not grass

Note to OP: Dicophar works very well, but is far from environmentally friendly.

Is any weedkiller, by definition, environmentally friendly?

Some are a lot worse than other - dicophar is probably the nastiest stuff a home user can get their hands on.

Nasty for the user or the weeds? I used it recently. great on thistles and docks, not great on buttercup or clover.

Yes, 2,4 D, and Dicamba especially

It works, it just takes a bit longer. It's a little like glyphosate on brambles - you spray it on and they just look a little sad, not dead, so you think it hasn't worked but eventually they'll die off. You won't get a fully weed-free lawn with it until it's been sprayed a few times and it won't stay weed free without consistent application, say 1-2 times per year every year.

FWIW, I wasn't going for a rant here. OP asked about more environmentally options and dicophar isn't one of them.
