Why are the anti lockdown/restrictions protests given coverage by media?

Anyone wonder why the monthly anti Covid restrictions marches are given so much news coverage by local media? Would it be better not to give them the oxygen of publicity which likely boosts the numbers coming out on the streets?
Isolate and ignore them as their numbers dwindle - allow them to reveal themselves as the oddball loons that they are.

Because if they didn't get media attention it would add fuel to the fire and just push their nonsense claim the media is ignoring them.

    This.
They already claim to be voiceless. It would actually be well meaning but foolhardy to not report on them. Better to show them truthfully and let people make up their own minds. It also shows the reality of the very small numbers at these things.

The media is correct to report on these loons..... They'd only think the media were in cahoots with government & big pharma otherwise :)

At least by getting reported people can avoid the area that they are taking place on/at.

    Latest in Cork today......

Because people want to find out what's going on and so will read the publication. Also fills column inches!!
