Can mens sport be referred to as mens sport from now on?

National sporting bodies in this country have stopped referring to womens teams as being womens teams and instead referring to them as just the Irish Rugby team, Irish Soccer team etc so that they are valued as equal to the mens. This is getting incredibly confusing and a bloody pain in the hole when you hear events annoounced you don't know who is playing.

Can we instead offload the term Irish team to the women and instead refer to all sport involving men as the Irish Mens team?

It'd would have to be Shannon unfortunately as I don't think Thomond have a ladies team but I'd learn to cope with the change, in both my team and my gender...
And it's not like I'd be joining St Mary's! :eek: that's a step too far like!

But anyway I can wander over to Shannon RFC identify as a woman, play a few games and then get picked for the 2022 6 nations and dominate the Sasnach?

What will happen in the future is that you won't have men's teams or women's teams.

For reasons of equality, all teams will have to consist of both men and women.

Do most sports actually exclude women from competing with men? I think I read somewhere before that women are more than welcome to compete against men in athletics and the gender exclusion only prevents men from entering ladies events. Could well be BS but made sense to me at the time.
