Looking at Section 56 and Part VI of the Succession Act 1965, if someone dies intestate and the only substantial asset is the family home, which is retained by their spouse, what rights do the children have to the house while the spouse lives?

Does the spouse have full rights (for example, they can will it to someone) and can deprive the children?

Or do the children have a right to one third of the house, stayed by the rights of the spouse? That is, the spouse can't will it to someone?
