Hyundai i40 and bike rack

Has anyone fitted a rear mounted bike rack to an i40?

The bit of research I've done suggests it can't actually take one which is disappointing but the sites I've not seen a definitive no.

That being the case. What options options would I have? I'd prefer not to put a roof rack on but if needs must...

Hi, I was about to post about same thing myself! Very disappointed not to be able to fit a rack to our car. Have you had any luck?

Nope. I was quoted 650 for a fixed towbar and 850 for a removable one. Our second car is due for replacement in the next 12 months sometime soon so I decided to hold off on it yet.

I see there are specialised fitters, particularly around Dublin who will probably do it cheaper than the local garage as they'd be more proficient at it. My mechanic said there was a lot of labour involved due to the additional electrical wiring that is required.
