    Hi

I failed the NCT on Friday (08 Vectra) for brake imbalance on the front (36% vs limit of 30%). Will replacing the pads fix this? Or is there something else I should be checking?

    Thanks

See what the pads are like first. Check the slider pins are free too.

Might also be a sticking brake calliper? Do you notice any shuddering when braking? I have had to replace both of my car's callipers at this point as they were sticking and snatching at the discs causing shuddering and pulling to one side.

That's usually caused by sticking slider pins, if they're too corroded the caliper will need to be replaced like what happened to you, expensive enough job too. You used to be able to get rebuild kits for them, maybe you still can but many garages choose to replace the whole caliper as it cuts down on time.
