    Ok I don’t know if that’s a word :pac:

But seriously, they’ve made it practically unusable with changes they’ve implemented in the last fortnight or so. The user interface was already pretty crap in terms of not being able to fast forward to stuff, but now they’ve stuck in ads for literally every tiny thing you try to do. You have to listen to a 30 second ad to even be able to listen at all. If you pause it for even 10 seconds, you have to listen to another ad.

I’m trying to listen to Claire Byrne from yesterday, and the amount of ads for every little thing (which “break” halfway through sometimes anyway) combined with not being able to navigate to a section of the programme, makes me just want to give up.

Has anyone else noticed the user interface has become dire recently?

I was thinking it was just me...

    Open the app? Pre-roll ad.
Change station? Pre-roll ad each time
Internet drops momentarily? Pre-roll ad before it resumes.
Listen back to a show? Pre-roll ad.
Lock the screen before the ad plays? Nope, you must listen to the ad first as it pauses while the screen is locked.

I get ad revenue is tight at the moment but if you're trying to retain FM-defectors it's an odd way of keeping people on side...

The main pre-roll ad software provider is very hard to set up reliably (if its even truly possible to get it reliable) but they somehow have a stranglehold on the market so I'd assume RTE use them.
