As title says. Applied everywhere. I've done courses since leaving school but have never got a job so no work experience & as every year passes it just seems like it will never happen. I'm 32 now! Only had maybe 3 interviews ever & as you may have guessed there's very little on my cv. I usuallly get asked the question..why haven't you worked..

I'm just getting nowhere & don't know what to do. Been to jobclub etc my cv is looking as best as it can. I volunteer now & then.

And why haven’t you worked to date? It does seem a bit strange that you would have had no job at all at 32.

What type of jobs are you applying for? The hospitality sector are crying out for workers, there is a severe shortage out there so plenty of jobs on the go. Have you been applying to hotels, restaurants, bars etc? They are all opening up in the next few weeks and are short on workers.

What would you like to do?

How are you applying for jobs? Is it all online or are you going into places? There are jobs constantly advertised in shops and cafes in my local town in North Dublin and around my job in Dublin 1. At this stage, if you have genuinely been trying and only gotten three interviews, your CV and presentation may need some tweaking. What do you volunteer in?

Shops, supermarket, council, hotels, cleaners and much more....

Hell there has been an abundance of jobs in all the years you could have been working since 15 or 16 years of age.

I'm working since 15 and was only ever out of work one time for 3 months.

I don’t think that’s helpful in this situation

Join an agency that supplies workers to warehouses and the like or some fast food place what part of Ireland do you live in.

If you are 32 then 14 years ago was the height of the Celtic tiger and you could not get anything?

You’re best option is to find someone you know , or get to know someone and get in and then get up the ladder

There must be more to this situation than the op has said it's very unusual for someone of 32 to never had any sort t of job even for a few months.

Wouldn't usually have suspicious mind but low post count and not every had a job at 32 is very trolly territory.

OP, it is quite unusual to be fair and any interviewer worth their salt will ask the obvious question.

But it's a question that you know will be asked so it should be possible to come up with a plausible back story - personal circumstances, carer for a dependent family member etc.

As has been alluded to in previous replies there are jobs if you are open to trying anything, I think considering your lack of experience etc it is wise to consider everything, even if it is simply getting a foot on the employee ladder.

Also in a previous post to boards, they have said they have a job.

I thought that after I posted , I’m starting to think there’s a psychology course or a media course and they encourage posts like this and use the replies in a anthropology project or some kind of data analysis

What happened to the job you had that you walked to every Monday and saw the fella you fancied?

I worked in Dunnes Stores when I was 16. Considering some of the clowns beside me, they will hire anyone.

The fact you were eligible to work during the Celtic tiger but didn't would be a big red flag for most employers.

Time for a wee white lie methinks:

2007-Present: Carer for my elderly mother/father/granny (select appropriate one)
    This role involved:
    - Domestic Engineering
    - Co-ordinating with other carers
    - Time Management

Tack on other duties relevant to the job you are applying for. Include a cover letter demonstrating why you'd be perfect for the role.

So i walk past a guy each Monday morning when i go to work & i fancy him like mad! I don't know anything about him...even IF he is single or not. We usually just smile & say hi.
How can i get talking without looking weird?
FYI...I've never been in a relationship before

    Really?
