Mounting to concrete

    Hi all,
I'm trying to mount an antique water pump to a concrete slab.
There's three bolt holes at the base of the pump.
8mm bolts are a good fit but I'm a novice at this.

I've drilled 3 8mm holes in the concrete but I've no idea what to even ask for in the hardware shop.

    Any help appreciated

8mm sounds a little 'light' for an antique pump; try measure the diameter of the holes at the bottom of the pump and match this to the bolt diameter. You want a fairly smooth surface and secure anchoring as these pumps will naturally receive some abuse and any movement at the base will weaken the whole structure over time (tip hazard). The depth of the anchor bolt should be 10cm or greater. Ideally the bolt should be cemented into the slab. Also don't over-tighten the bolt onto the pump or you're likely to crack the casting.

I'd use these as the stud will remain proud of the concrete, but that's just a preference.

Your other option is these 12mm types:

    Much appreciated.
If I went with the 10mm what size drill bit should I be using?
Never mind see it says they are marked on the bolt.
    Thanks again
