With restrictions easing up June, family is going to galway and it's first time travelling that far with a baby just wondering how many service stations westbound along m4 and m6.

"Online" there is one near Enfield, one near Moate, one near Loughrea and at Athlone there is a handy stop at Coosan exit in Athlone by the B&Q if that isn't enough. M50 to end at Galway it's less than two hours driving at the speed limit so handy enough and lots of options

Well it's been a while since I did it regularly but they still haven't even started on the outer bypass down there, so if you land from the M6 in rush hour yeah... not fun :D

I’m from Galway and when I used to work in Dublin commuting east bound Sunday evening and west bound Friday I always stopped at M6 service station in Kilbeggan. It’s literally just off the M6 and found it to be exactly halfway between Dublin and Galway. I found with the M4 Enfield station you were just really leaving Dublin westbound /coming in to Dublin eastbound.
Definitely Galway city traffic especially on a Friday evening after lunch up to 6 pm in summer and if it’s raining is so slow especially if you have to cross the city/over the Quincentennial Bridge getting to Salthill.

We're planning travelling on a Wednesday. Our check-in time is around 1pm so hopefully we arrived there well after the rush hour.

Thanks, were travelling all the way from Drogheda and it is quite a journey especially with a baby so stops in between needed.

It's a very easy journey these days. You'll do it in under 2 and a half hours excluding stops.

Motorway all the way until Galway itself.

I'd plan the stops for kinnegad plaza and Galway plaza.

Kinnegad plaza is about an hour from Drogheda and Galway plaza about an hour further. Leaving less than an hour to get to destination and check in.
