Broken lock

    Looking for some advice before brute force is used...
    Door lock. Door won't open. It It unlocked and the key is out. I took the handle off and turned the spindle and it turns with resistance but the door doesn't open. pic attached. Door opens on

    It's possible the wood has expanded, wedging door to frame, or not allowing latchbolt to clear the strike plate. If using brute force, have the spindle turned as far as possible before applying force about the lock area.

    If you have access to the other side, you might be able to pry it open.
