Does anywhere in Dublin sell leftover or broken tiles?

I want to do a kind of mosaic on a wall and ideally would get lots of bits of different sized and colour tile. The more random the better.

If I could do it without having to buy lots of bits of brand new, expensive tile that would be ideal!

Check out architectural salvage yards, though they will tend to have more expensive tiles. More general junk yards might be a better option, but it is a matter of just going to all of them and searching. Otherwise look for a local freecycle or buy and sell. You could also consider buying cheap charity shop crockery and breaking it.

I'd also approach tile shops - there's always breakage or small leftovers, samples, etc.

Our kitchen floor is done in broken tiles. All came from the bin inside a tile shop. The owner even used to save interesting tiles from my wife. Apart from the broken tiles the tile shop alway got they also used to get the remains from tiling jobs dumped in their bin. Also useful to ask for any old sample sheets sometimes you can get half a meter or more of really expensive tiles that are discontinued.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Thanks all - I'm planning on getting some (non-broken) tiles for another job so might ask the shop while I'm in there.

I do know a tiler but I think a lot of what he does is bathrooms - so generally more muted/neutral colours - I'm looking for a decent mix with lots of strong colours and patterns.
