I noticed the driver wingmirror was wobbling like mad today . Sure enough it came off easily when I checked it . Thankfully I did or it could have come off at high speed.
What’s best to reattach it ? It’s a heated electric mirror

The passenger one seems fine. Checked my wife’s (2010 Golf also heated mirrors ) and the passenger side seems wobbly . May as well do that as well

Had a similar problem with my 2008 golf. I ordered a replacement mirror from micks garage. watched a few youtube videos on how to change the mirror. Was a fairly straightforward job, just needed a screwdriver to pry the wobbly mirror off.

The mirror glass is fine I just need to know what to use to reattach it .
I’m seeing epoxy glue mentioned online?

Sorry picked you up wrong, I wouldn't know what to use to reattach the existing mirror.

Assuming it's just the glass that came away from the rest of the mirror unit, double-sided foam tape will do the job. Get a decent brand like 3M so it will last

Get a thin double sided tape , if the foam is too thick it affects the heating on the mirror.

    It’s just the glass

Happened with my A6, I just stuck it back on with some tech7 because it's all I had. Heating element still works and hasn't falling off since so happy days

Thanks I have Tec7 somewhere and that was my first thought !
I also have Gorilla Glue silicone sealant but not sure that would do it

It's a common problem on them, apparently if the mirror switch is left on the heating setting over time the glue that sticks the mirror melts.

Makes sense as mine is always on heating

Don't use glue, use double sided tape. You'll find tape in any well-stocked motor factors.

Should I just pull off the other side as well so ?

It's very uncommon for the glass to fall off. The other side will probably be fine, they don't usually fail in pairs.

This happened to both of my mirrors as I always forget to turn off the heating.

With having it all on all the time they will degrade as similar paces and both fell off within a month or two of each other.
