The Phyllis Murphy case

Generally not one for serial killers.

I watched the documentary on the case last night.

The rapist-killer who beat and strangled her was someone she use to babysit for, he picked her up at a bus stop while he was on the way to work one evening so it wasn't planned, as soon as he had a young girl in the car on a dark evening he felt entitled to sexually assault her and when she fought back to beat her and then strangle her.

I know it's always motive, means, and opportunity, does that means the motive is always there but well hidden until they get the chance? Is it evil, is it something in their background.

The other thing that struck me about the case was that a friend at work gives him an alibi when he was two hours late for work on the evening of the murder why would anyone do that.

Wasn’t there a story out awhile back that John Crerar and Larry Murphy were in cahoots?

I don't, in general, follow that sort of thing so don't know but would the age of both not make that unlikely.

Not sure, to be honest. I remember reading that someone saw the two hanging out in some remote location.

What a horrible case. I live in Naas and I've never heard about this until now :(

Terribly sad for her family. I hope this guy never has a moments peace when he is released.
