Address and social welfare

Hello, I am currently getting jobseekers allowance and am living at home for a few months now. My partner (not married just in a relationship) lives in another county and I visit him often and as I am back and forth between there and my home address I was going to sign on the lease and was wondering do I have to change address on my social welfare?

Your post is confusing. Are you saying you are looking to rent a place in another county but want to continue to tell social welfare you live at home? That is considered fraud. Why would you take up a lease and pay rent from your limited income in a different county if you genuinely stay at home most of the time?

Yeah sorry I worded that poorly. Was just wondering was it essentiall to change my address with the social welfare as I am back and forth between the two places but from what I have read I will have to do so.

You definitely have to change your address with them to your primary residence. Presumably the place you will be paying for and signing a contract for will be your primary residence. It would be fraudulent to say otherwise, especially if you are going to be living with a partner. Their income will need to be declared and could affect your payment.
