Need a Username

Is there a brand that is the best and most reliable?

I was waiting on delivery of a Western Digital Passport 4tb but the parcel is lost. Amazon gave me a refund but the price on the drive has gone up and I was wondering if I should choose a different one.

No external drive can be considered reliable - you only have to drop them, knock them while running or just have them overheat to overuse.

Really you need 2 external drives if you want reliability.


Also consider a smaller solid state removable drive - you can get them in 1Tb fairly reasonable - as they are new there is no data if they will last longer - but no spinning parts has to be a plus?

Just reorder it - for a hundred euro you can't go wrong

Not sure why there is a M.2 PCIe NVMe being linked above

I linked a M.2 and a holder for it...

Assembled together - its Possibly a more reliable external hardrive than a spinning disk external drive - op was looking for reliability....

Bog standard SSD is fine for an external drive

Depends on what the data storage is for - SSD great for speed, old HDD great for storage on a cost price comparison
