Sky Q installation guide

I am upgrading to Sky Q next week, currently have a 4 port LNB, I thought I had read somewhere that they change the LNB when bringing in Sky Q……?
I am taking the multi room deal and also want to use an amiko STB for free to air in a 3rd room.

I’m going to insist that I keep the current HD box, albeit I’m not sure I’ll ever use it again.

Any other advice? Will that approach work?

    Cheers all!

They do. You will need to ask the installer nicely for a hybrid LNB (which they may or may not provide) in order to keep the FTA box and make sure they don’t cut the connection from the room you want to keep the FTA box in. The wideband LNB which they normally install will not work with most FTA receivers.

They will not mind if you keep the current Sky+HD box, it’s yours. You won’t be able to use it (as a Sky pay tv receiver anyway) and Sky Q together though.
