I have a 5 t straight bin at the moment and I am thing of upgrading to a split bin or else another straight bin. Has anyone found the split bins to be troublesome with meal getting stuck or any other issues ?

Have a split bin. Holds 8 tonne either side. Use a coarse ration. No real issues getting stuck,

None. I supposed they are designed for that not to be an issue

I be inclined to go with a straight bin. I have s split bin one on top of the other. Bins seldom get blocked by the way they are designed but by what goes into them. Then it's a matter of getting them emptied.

Twice mine has been blocked once the bottom and once the top half. Both were tricky to clear. The bottom cone had to be dropped and bin emptied and cleaned. The top was a pig of a job I had to get a hoist open the top hatch and push the material down through the bottom chute.

First time I think the ration got wet in the truck by a damaged cover. The second time the ration heated, it was popcorn treated barley IMO bit it's very hard to get a miller to admit that it was there problem
