Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Any advice? I don't even know how they compare cost-wise but there is something apealing about no tilegrout to be cleaned!

Shower panels are cheaper. Fast install ideal for the lads that love the no more nails stuff.

I fit showers for a living. Personally I think you can't beat tiles.

The biggest mistake most people make with the plastic panels is they don't bother putting the plywood behind it. Without it nothing will stay on the wall. No grounds for screws for shower, shower pole etc. Everything will be wobbly in the end. Usually your tiles are the grounds. They hold the screws tightly. Ply behind the panels can be almost as good as tiles for grounds

Love the panels myself, can't stand grout lines that never stay clean! Look down the road a bit too and if anyone fancies dying their hair, either young ones with pink or old ones who are greyer then grout is impossible to mind :)

I took down tiles in one shower and fitted grosfillex back years ago when it was fairly new to market and not much choice, best thing ever, it's still perfect and I fitted it straight to concrete wall, sure if you have to attach anything you drill in past the panel and into the blocks.

Used it as well in a second room where I partitioned off part of the room so it had a plywood backing in that room, again no problems and they are done maybe 15 yrs or more at this stage. There is a beautiful selection these days of different types so I would definitely be going for it.

Plus if you happen to touch off the walls of the shower when in there it's a lovely warm finish not a perishing cold tile :)
