Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Electrician cost estimate

Quick question on similar topic. I want to get a light switch moved from the wall one side of a door to the wall at the other side (changing the door to swing in the opposite direction). What would be a ballpark figure to get an electrician to do this (in Cork) ?

It is a small distance but I expect they would probably need to chase the block wall (supporting wall so its solid).

    Thanks
    Val

Could be €200 approx, depends how you want to terminate the now obsolete switch, because if the live is looped in here you might not be able to get it above. Is there a switch on the other side of the wall?

    Get a quote anyway.

Would a new type of battery operated switch be an option, these are exactly the same on the wall but wireless....

Have to say great application for opposite sides of rooms or top/bottom of stairs etc...
