Sheared bolt on front left control arm

Ok I have a bit of a problem... I was replacing the large bushing on the front left control arm on my mk5 golf and one of the bolts sheared when removing... there is enough of the bolt to get vice grips on but the thing is not budging. I have soaked it with penetrating oil but that is done nothing.

I have a feeling that the weight of the engine might be causing pressure that is stopping me from removing as I didn’t use a locating pin when I removed the other bolt that locks the subframe to the chassis.

I think I might have to drop the subframe and drill it out but before I do just wanted to check is there anything I should try.

Could you get a piece of flat bar, drill a bolt sized hole in it and weld it to the bolt...the heat alone would help..if you have room...and a welder..!!
