Just out of range of Eir Rural Fibre

    Hi folks,

I am just out of coverage of Eir Rural Fibre - when I say "just", I mean by about 1/2 KM.

Has anyone had an experience of convincing Eir to cover an extra 500 meters, to include their house in coverage?

    Thanks,

    Ray K

Not going to happen, the lines are the lines and they always have been.
Don't bother wasting time wishing and hoping and ringing and emailing.
Put it out of your head until you hear they are doing your stretch of the road.

I have heard of but can't confirm for sure that some people paid privately to get the lines to their house in similar situations and got connected but as I said just hearsay. I have the exact same problem, the line stopped on the opposite side of a field in front of my house.

Don't expect anything from life, just be grateful to be alive.

check your eircode on nbi.ie and see roughly when you will be covered

with the rural ftth, no chance to extend but if you had line of sight to a neighbour you got on well with maybe a point to point wireless link

No hope. We can’t get an extension for a 250 metre driveway.

spitballing here but what about build a comms box at driveway entrance, run power & ethernet from house to it?

i guess the issue then is that your eircode isnt included in the rural ftth build and computer says no..
