    Hi,
it's been years since I assembled a gaming PC, so would appreciate your opinion on this PCSpecialist's build:
    Processor (CPU)
    Intel® Core™ i5 Six Core Processor i5-10600K (4.1 GHz) 12 MB Cache
    Motherboard
    ASUS® PRIME Z490-P (LGA1200, USB 3.2, CrossFireX) - ARGB Ready
    Memory (RAM)
    8GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2400MHz (1 x 8GB)
    Graphics Card
6GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1660 SUPER - HDMI, DP - GeForce GTX VR Ready!
    1st Storage Drive
    1TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 64MB CACHE
    1st M.2 SSD Drive
    512GB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD (2000 MB/R, 1100 MB/W)
    Power Supply
    CORSAIR 450W CV SERIES™ CV-450 POWER SUPPLY
    Processor Cooling
PCS FrostFlow 100 V3 Series High Performance CPU Cooler
    Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
    ...
Price: €1,296.00 including VAT and Delivery

Is the price fair for this config? Is the ASUS® PRIME Z490-P motherboard ok? I am not planning to upgrade to 2 GPUs with this build. Is the GTX 1660 SUPER best bang for money? Or can I get something vastly superior for €50 more?

    Thank you!

8GB of RAM is a bare minimum now, you should aim for 16GB. Plus is 2400MHz the max speed for it? 3200MHz stuff, or higher, shouldn't have a significant price difference.

On a Z490 I'd certainly get dual-channel faster ram, probably the 2*8GB of 3200 (or faster).

For some reason the 1660Ti is cheaper than the 1660 Super so I'd go with the Ti.

I'd ditch the 1TB hdd and just upgrade the M.2 ssd to 1TB and in that case just go with the Intel rather than whatever random brand their slower PCS one would be.

The psu is not very good and would certainly be dodgy for a gpu upgrade down the road, I'd go for one of the TXMs if your budget can handle it.

I really don't know if their cooler is any use at all but the options are fairly limited so not sure what I'd go with.

Just get something like this. It's already built and ready to ship.

    i5-10400, 16GB 2666mhz Ram, 1TB M2 nvme drive, GTX1660 Super and it's cheaper as well.

450w PSU is a bit on the tight side.

    Get 16gb RAM.

Are you planning on using this for VR?

No plans for VR at the moment.

Thank you all for the advice, more power, more RAM, SSD all the way :)

450w is only tight for future upgrades, for a 10400 and a 1660 super it's plenty. Wouldn't be overly concerned about it.

I'd say that build is worth about 800 max normally. Even in the current climate it seems massively overpriced.

I'd say it's pretty reasonable in the current climate. The Dell G5 is about €900 but only 8GB single channel RAM, smaller SSD and far less upgradable in general due to custom design.

    Curry's have similar machines (3600/1660S) machine for €1,100 but again 8GB RAM and 1TB HDD/256GB SSD v 1TB nvme.

Assuming you were talking about what he bought versus what was in the original post.

The Dell is a PoS fwiw, everything is proprietary crap, from the PSU to the Mobo.

    1. Pretty much any game will run on very high settings, see https://www.techspot.com/review/1935-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1660-super/
    2. I use standard keyboard + some standard ergonomic mouse. If you play at night with lights off, then a keyboard with glowing symbols can be useful. Some games may be better played with a gamepad.
    3. No, you can connect sound to the TV. But unless I am seriously out of date, which is likely, a dedicated monitor with a low response rate is going to be superior to a TV screen.

No I was talking about the original post. The one he got is much better.

    Hey Victor8600,

Did you receive it? Thinking to buy one as well just wondering as the company is based in Yorkshire if you had to pay any custom duty etc.
