    Hello Boards,

Is there a reduced Tax rate if you own shares in a company for a longer period of time?

I purchased Restricted B Shares that were sold to employees for a nominal 1p per share.

I remember reading somewhere that CGT was reduced to 20% if the shares were held for over 10 years.

Also, does it impact IT/PRSI/USC rates?

    Thanks everyone.

The only one who can properly answer your questions are your employer who set up the share scheme. What does the paperwork you received when you joined the scheme state? The link below is to all the Revenue manuals on the various schemes for reference.
