Picket fence into Crazy Paving

Looking to put up 3/4ft high Picket Fence. There is existing Crazy Paving though. Thinking for the posts to break out stone with sledgehammer and bar. Then to hire an auger drill. I’ve no idea what’s under the Paving.

Worth a crack at it?
Or is there a simpler way.

Just go for it

Pick a stone, hack it out, get digging with bar first to get an idea of what's underneath.
I would assume there's not much foundation under crazy paving.

What type and size posts are you thinking and what is length of fence roughly ?
What is purpose of fence, how strong / rigid do you need it to be ?
Steel box section posts would be more rigid and reduce movement at top of fence but of course more expensive.
For sure take up a sample stone somewhere to see but no matter what I would say you will need to dig down a bit. If you have good ground and can drive the post well down you should be fine. A rule of thumb I believe is 1/3 of height fence height above the ground.
Use a con-saw to cut neat squares and maybe cut and re-set stone around base of post for a neat finish.

To contain small dog and provide a wind break to an extent for the creature. Will use 3-4ft high version. So min a ft deep hole. I’ll be reusing wood for the posts that I’ve lying around. Guessing the premade panels are the handiest thing.

I thought of them but figured drilling into stone wouldn't work out.
Worth a go rather than digging I suppose
