Doing some Renovations at the house and had sealed up the wardrobes. Obviously not sealed sufficiently. Opened them today and the contents are covered in fine dust.

Any ideas other than washing/dry cleaning the entire contents

Hang them by the hangers on a washing line?

On a DRY day take everything outside and give each item a good shake, then brush down with a soft clean brush - clothes brushes used be common but you don't see them any more. A new handbrush (dustpan and brush) would do. Pay most attention to shoulders and collars. Check them over and anything that still looks dusty you will probably have to wash, but you should be able to avoid doing most of them. You will probably find the bulk of the front and back is ok, just the shoulders, sleeves and collars are dusty.

Hover them with the little car detailing brush attachment.

What type of clothing are you talking about?
