    With the recent ransomware attack on the HSE, I thought this might be an interesting topic to discuss.

    I personally dont know how to do this above possibly a VPN and up to date antiviral software but would be interested to learn

    A VPN is a tunnel to another network. Your info is only encrypted to their network. Do you trust them that much?

    Just teach yourself some good practices, I'd start with using an adblocker in your browser and a good password manager so that every single site you login to has a unique random string password and enable 2 factor everywhere
