What are my options for replacing an old chalet in rural zoned land

We recently discovered that my sisters and I have inherited our old holiday home in Portrane. It kind of got lost in a messy divorce years ago and has been laying vacant for over 35 years. We are now the owners of an old and asbestos roofed two bedroomed chalet that really needs to come down. I know that we will need to get professionals in to remove the asbestos. We would really love to put another structure on site so that we can enjoy it again with our own kids.

We looked at log cabins but that seems to be a no go as far as planning goes. We are now looking at modular homes or shipping containers as a possibility. Can anyone advise me on what is possible given that there is a structure already there. We are a bit lost at the moment.

The area was rezoned as agricultural and rural land but there are four houses, one modular home and one log cabin style house on the lane where our site is.

There is a mobile home park in the field behind us and further up the lane near the beach. There are a few sites with shipping container type holiday homes along the lane too. Will this go in our favour?

    Many thanks!
