Best way to sort this hole

Doing some renovations on my home office and as part of it i replaced the rubbish electric rad i had with a better one.

The wire that goes to the on off switch was plastered over so when i pulled it out it took some of the plaster with it, circa 50mm hole left.

I could do the same again and fill around it (painter is coming next week so room will be freshly painted anyway) but would i be better putting some sort of hole cover or something in place so that if i needed to remove it again i wouldnt have the same issue?

any ideas / suggestions gratefully received!

You could use a faceplate if you think you might need access again.

is the box on the left a socket?
If so you could fit a double single and have a socket and a spurred
outlet side by side.

here it is from further back, the new radiator will effectively sit over where this hole is and be right beside the switch

I DO like the brushed stainless in the HO:)
where is the 60" OLED


You could get a plastic one for now and clean up that hole and replace with brushed stateless when you can get one, I doubt it the are off the shelf unless u have a trade outlet near you

completely wrong for this job,
If it was mine I'd fish the cable through the wall and pop it out just behind the rad so its not seen at all.

thats the way it will be when the rad is on the way, it covers the hole, im just wondering how best to fill it, i mean i could just fill around the wire but there has to be a more elegant solution?

Make a hole the size of the cable and fill the other one.

Various fused spurs will have an exit hole on the front or at the bottom of the face of the switch. I'm unsure why this was actually fished through the wall with a hole and into the rear of that fused spurs.

I'd remove the cabling. Fill that hole. Then go buy a better fused spur with cable access and replace. The job as is is very very messy even if radiator is fitted again.

yeah not sure why he did it that way either tbh, i didnt like the look of it as it was before i took the old rad off.

Yes exactly that.

Yes. Technically removing the fuse isolates it, but you should have one with a switch.

Much cleaner. That's how I had envisaged it should have looked from the start. Nice clean switched fused spur.
