    Hi all,

I was reading through this and I noticed that they charge €2.50 for every gb used passed 1tb. Anyone know if they enforce this or not? Im with Vodafone atm and have constantly hit over the limit without any issues. (1.7tb)

    Thanks

1 TB limit these days is utter nonsense. Especially on products like FTTH.

Regardless if they're strict or not, If you have the option to go with an ISP without one I'd rather go that route.

Got a link to what you are reading? The Fair Usage Policy they have on their site doesn't mention this.
Most if not all providers have done away with an allowance, label their services as 'unlimited' and say if you abuse the service (think many many TB a month) they will look to kick you...or at least warn you a few times before

Perhaps this is a old one?

Since the pandemic started we're doing about 3.5TB a month and I'd consider us fairly light users. AFAIK Digiweb are the only ones who haven't removed the AUP.

    Crazy stuff.

I just looked up stats for last month on my Frizbox router with Pure

last months total bandwidth usage was 3.177998TBs and never heard anything from them

Digiweb's is there but from personal experience not enforced. I pushed 4TB on several occasions when the FUP was still only 1TB and nothing said.

Sorry to go off topic but I've just signed up with Pure and asked what router I get but they weren't sure. I had Digiweb for a few years and each year I renewed I asked for another Fritzbox router.

Did ye get Fritbox routers or TG588 ones? If it's TG588 is there much to setting up a Fritzbox then as the TG 588 reviews are awful

its either the fritz box or the f2000.

i had that router years ago on vdsl. Its awful, pretty sure it only works with vdsl connections.

An F2000 just arrived in the post this morning alright. I have a Fritzbox 4040, 7560 and 7360 so might switch to a compatible one from that list and setup a few repeaters.

A little less slightly off topic but not completely back on ,does anyone know if Vodafone is truly uncapped. Im moving to them via NBI next week and cant seem to find a statement saying anything about FUP for home broadband.

If Digiweb don't ask for the Fritz back just use it instead.

They removed the 1tb limit from the FUP but theres still a cap there. I used 2tb last month without any issues. Id say you’ll be fine.its only really there to cover their asses and to stop people from using 10tb every month seeding torrents.
